Awards Terms and Conditions

1.The Promotion is conducted by BA Ltd., ACN 072 484 998, of 291 George Street, Wantirna South, Victoria 3152, https://australia.basketball/ 03 9847 2333 (“Promoter”).

SELECTED IN THE TEAM – TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN

2. Wondering if you can win? Well you certainly can, as long as you are:
(a) an Australian resident; and
(b) agree to all relevant terms and conditions (“Eligible Entrant”).

3. Unfortunately you can’t win if you are: an employee/director, of the Promoter or one of their immediate family members; a retailer, supplier, associated company, or agency of the Promoter; or a person who the Promoter has previously notified is not eligible to enter. This time you’ll have to wait on the bench!
4. This promotion is only open to current (2020) Aussie Hoops registrants (our current roster, sorry – no debutants).
5. The person submitting the video/image of the nominated participant (Entrant) must be a relative of the Entrant, referred to henceforth as their parent/guardian.

TIME FOR TRAINING – HOW TO ENTER

6. It’s simple really:

Aussie Hooper of the Year Competition

  • Take a video of your child describing what they have loved most about Aussie Hoops this year, or what your child is most looking forward to when the program resumes (for those that haven’t been able to attend their program due to COVID-19 restrictions). Alternatively, snap a pic and submit with a caption describing the above.
  • Fill in the form here and upload either your video or pic with caption.
  • Each week, a gallery of submissions will be shared across our Aussie Hoops social channels. The submission with the most engagement, along with voting from Basketball Australia Judges will win. Engagement will be defined the total number of times users liked, commented, and saved the post during the competition period. This includes organic activity only.
  • Be sure to submit your entry between 12 noon AEST 9 September 2020 and 5PM AEST 20 October 2020 (“Promotion Period”).

7. Late for training? Sorry, you won’t be eligible. All entries must be received by the Promoter during the Promotion Period and in accordance with the conditions of entry. Incomplete, inaudible, indecipherable or incomprehensible entries will also be ineligible.
8. Only one entry per person is allowed. You as the parent/guardian can only enter the name of your child. We reserve the right to check the validity of all entries and to disqualify you if we reasonably believe that your entry does not comply with these terms and conditions or the entry process has been tampered with. We may also report you to a law enforcement body or seek damages from you.

Aussie Hoops Coach of the Year Competition

  • Submit an entry form describing why your Coach should be crowned the Coach of the Year for 2020
  • The nominee must be a Coach or staff member at your local Aussie Hoops Centre during 2020
  • Be sure to submit your entry between 12 noon AEST 17 September 2020 and 5PM AEST 22 November 2020 (“Promotion Period”).

7. Late for training? Sorry, you won’t be eligible. All entries must be received by the Promoter during the Promotion Period and in accordance with the conditions of entry. Incomplete, inaudible, indecipherable or incomprehensible entries will also be ineligible.
8. Only one entry per person is allowed. We reserve the right to check the validity of all entries and to disqualify you if we reasonably believe that your entry does not comply with these terms and conditions or the entry process has been tampered with. We may also report you to a law enforcement body or seek damages from you.

GAME DAY – WHAT CAN I WIN?

9. One (1) eligible entrant (of both AHOTY and AHCOTY) will win the competition prize:
– Two basketballs each signed by either the Chemist Warehouse Opals or Australian Boomers team = RRP $500
– $100.00 Spalding Voucher

The eligible entrant that has been selected as the 2020 Aussie Hooper of the Year will be notified of their win via email and/or phone.
10. The value of the Prize is valued up to $600AUD. Values are the recommended retail value and are correct at time of printing.
11. All Prize(s) will be awarded to the winning entrant based on highest number of social media engagement (total number of times users liked, commented, and saved the post during the competition period) across all social channels (Facebook and Instagram) and judging by members of the Basketball Australia Marketing Team (“Judges”).
12. Prize Date and Place: The selection of entrants for the Prize(s) will take place at 291 George Street, Wantirna South, Victoria 3152 within three (3) business days of the conclusion of the Promotion Period.
13. One of the Judges will contact the winning Entrant’s parent/guardian and tell them how they can collect their Prize by emailing or calling them within three (3) business days of the draw.
14. If we can’t track down a Winner despite making all reasonable efforts to do so within 72 hours, or if the Winner doesn’t claim their Prize by the time we specify in our correspondence, then their Prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of any prize. Our  Judges may select other “back-up” winning entrant who may become the new Winner.
15. Postage costs associated with transit of the Prize will be covered by Basketball Australia (BA Ltd.)

THE REFEREE SAYS – THE RULES OF ENTRY

16. The Prize cannot be sold, scalped, auctioned, raffled, pledged, or promoted as an incentive or reward by you or anyone you get to do so.
17. To the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, we reserve the right to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion (as appropriate) in the event:
(a) of a cataclysmic event, war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster or other unforeseen circumstances ; or
(b) that this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond our control.
18. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability, or merchantability of the Prize. We can’t exchange, swap or transfer the Prize or any unused portion of it. If the Prize(s) is/are unavailable for reasons beyond our control, we cannot be held liable.
19. Once the Prize(s) has/have left the premises of the Promoter (or associated agencies), we will not be responsible for any delay, failure to deliver, or damage caused to the Prize(s) during transit.
20. If entering or winning this Promotion causes you to suffer any loss, financial or otherwise, that’s unfortunate, but not our responsibility. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its related companies and each entities’ personnel exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense, including loss of opportunity) which is suffered or incurred by any individual in connection with the Promotion or Prize, including but not limited to: (i) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (ii) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (iii) any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (iv) any tax liability incurred by the Winner or entrant; (v) any direct, indirect, economic or consequential loss; (vi) any loss arising from negligence; (vii) any liability for personal injury or death. Nothing in these conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001 or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia.
21. The Promoter may take photographs of the Winner. They might be artistic, they might not – either way we get to choose whether we use them or not. By entering this Promotion, you consent to us:
(a) using your personal details (name, likeness, image and/or voice); and
(b) agree to media exposure for the purpose of any future promotional, marketing, advertising or publicity (in any media) of our choice for an unlimited period without remuneration or other compensation.
22. Your entry and entry details become our property. By entering the Promotion, unless you tell us otherwise, you consent to us using your personal information for running the Promotion and awarding Prizes. We’ll only share your information with our related entities and contractors for the above purposes. The Winner’s(s’) personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments as required by law. You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you and request that corrections be made to it – but only where such correction requests are legitimate.
23.
